Rio Bravo is a city in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located just south of the U.S.-Mexico border and about 20 miles west of the Gulf of Mexico. The city has a population of approximately 200,000 people and is a major agricultural and industrial center in the region. Its economy is based on cotton, sorghum, and livestock production, as well as manufacturing of goods such as steel, canned foods, and plastics. Rio Bravo is also known for its annual cultural festival known as Fiestas del Rio, which celebrates the city's history and traditions.
